Business Details

Our slate originates from the Spanish province of Galicia, the worlds leading slate producing area. More than one third of all slates are from this region.

With over 90 quarries in the province, we have carefully selected slate from 15 producers to reflect a balance between quality, cost and supply.

All suppliers meet European Quality standards and our products carry a minimum 10 year guarantee.

Standard slate sizes are 320 x 220 and 400 x 250; slates are 3-6mm thick. Different sizes are possible for big projects. The average slate weighs about 700g.

Slate are laid in the conventional way, with a triple overlap and does not require malthoid (underlay).

The slates can be attached either by nailing or hooks. The stainless steel hook will last a lifetime and are extremely quick to fit…. plus you save on timber as each baton measures 13 X 28mm.

The Stainless steel hook makes it very easy to replace damaged slates.

Because the slates are thinner than the local product, they have a lighter load on your roof structure.  (0.39kN per square meter).  This translates into a saving on your trusses as smaller sections of wood can be used.

Naturally Slate offers a full supply and fitting service of trusses as well as water proofing.  This allows the client to deal with only one roofing contractor.
